I’m a truly bilingual translator (Afrikaans and English) and accredited text editor and proofreader (English) with a Postgraduate Diploma in Translation (Stellenbosch University) and the SATI prize for outstanding service translation under my belt.

As a sworn translator admitted to the High Court of South Africa, I mostly assist private individuals, emigration agencies and law firms by translating personal and official documents from Afrikaans into English for court, emigration, study or work purposes.

I also channel my inner nerd by helping Software-as-a-Service, e-commerce or digital marketing companies with UI or UX localisation and machine translation post-editing in Afrikaans or for the English-speaking South African market.

Because I started my career two decades ago as a book editor and proofreader, I also provide translation and proofreading services to non-fiction and educational publishers to prepare cookbooks, business books, self-help titles, autobiographies and textbooks for the African market. One such title won the award for best cookbook on local cuisine at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. Two other book titles I’m very proud of:
